does anyone know for sure if the core clock increases the hypertransport, as it does the RAM in a system? like ht 5x, 4x, these are multipliers correct? im just making sure...
and is there any tool you can use to measure the hypertransport speed from in windows?

if you change the external clock on an amd processor you increase the hypertransport speed. however, the cpu multiplier and the hypertransport multiplier are independant of each other. the speed of the cpu and the hypertransport are a multiple of the external clock.
the multipliers you mention are for the hypertransport.
im not aware of any utilities that will allow you to measure the hypertransport speed but i would expect there to be some sort of utility available

Correct, those multipliers are for LDT/CORE You can use CPUz to read the HT speed (incorrectly listed as FSB) or Central Brain Identifier

On CPUz 1.31 it lists it as HTT. Atleast, it does for me...

Yeah, wierd my X2-3800 reads FSB and A64-3200 reads HTT lol wierd, in any case, we now know CPUz correctly shows the proper term on some of the systems Dunno, maybe OCing scrambled something .. it doesnt matter
