I added another fan, helped?

Hey,

I've just added an 80mm fan to the back of my computer:

At the moment it is sucking air out of the computer, I thought it'd help with he temps but they are only like 2C lower?

What gives?
 
There's nothing up front? No grills or anything? If you could somehow mod the case to put one in, that would help. Can you put a 120mm in the back, or is it just the 80mm back there?
Another thought I had was that the air being pulled in by the 80mms are just being pulled out by the 80mm on the back.
 
There are grills but there isn't any-where it would ge the air from, there's no holes.

Just a 80mm I think, I just bought it today...

The temps have gone down by about 4C after getting the new fan... I think because there is a constant lot of cool air running through, the CPU fan sucks some up.
 
I would recommend thinking about somehow modding your case so that a fan can be in front of the hard drives. If you are satisfied with your current temperatures, though, there isn't any reason to change.
 
I don't really want to hack my case apart, my temps were about 37C idle, they are now 34C idle...

Are they good?
 
Just for the heck of it, kill those side fans... Personally I don't like that design. I could be totally wrong, but it seems like those two fans will push air in and the rear fan will just suck it right back out.

As for front fans, my previous case had a fan controller build into it. If I cranked both front and back fans up, temps would get higher. However, if I left the front fan on low and the rear on high, temps would go down...
 
I don't really want to get rid of the fans on the side... It was also recomended to me to get an exhaust fan.

How can I change these, they don't have speed controlers on them... Are my idle temps bad?

I don't mean totally get rid of them, just try a run without them going...

If the fans are connected to your motherboard, and it also supports fan controlling, you may do so that way. Typically this is handled in the BIOS or some software made by your mobo manufacturer.

And your temps didn't seem too bad.
 
I don't have any fan controlling software, I could try inplugging them and see how it goes...

Ok, Overall, I think I'm glad I got the extra fan though, I'll check my load temps.
 
I just ran Prime for about 4 mins and my CPU usage went up to 100% and my temp went up to 36C...

what option should I choose from the 3 that it gives me?
I'll run it for longer later too.
