I am finaly upgrading from my dinosaur (sempron 2300+, 9700PRO, 1gb ram). Right now i have exactly $430USD. I can order off newegg.
Ok, as of now all i need is a new mobo, PSU, CPU, and Video card. Right now I am debating on getting a pentium D 805, or a Athlon 64 3500+. And for the video card, i have no clue. I have picked out this PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16817104954.

So basicly, i need a new mobo, CPU and Video card for $336.76.
For the CPU and Mobo I have decided these two setups
CPU-Pentium D 805
Mobo- ASUS P5GPL-X Socket T (LGA 775)
Which leaves me with about $116 for the video card.

Or

CPU-Athlon 64 3500+
Mobo-ECS RX480-A (1.0) Socket 939
Which leaves me with $145 for the Video card.

As for the Video card, I have no clue. I don't plan to SLI or crossfire. I was thinking something along the lines of a 7600GT, but i am not sure.

If you have any suggestions on what to get, that would be great.

I have indeed. Basicly, its not a matter of which one i think is better, its just a matter of what one will give me the best performance over all. If i get the 805, i will have less to spend on the GPU, but if i get a 3500+, i will have more to spend on the GPU.
I know the 805 is faster after some OC, but will i get better performance in games with a good CPU and ok GPU or an Ok CPU and a good GPU?

EDIT: I dont care about performance outside of games, i mean, my sempron 2300+ is plenty fast enough for me outside of games.

OK, i am going to order all the stuff in about two hours or so. Basicly, i can get the same video card and PSU. Getting a athlon 64 3500+ and pentium D 805 will cost me the same to get. After reading reviews on the 805, i am starting to lean towards getting it. What are your guys opinions? Which one is better, the 3500+ or the 805?

You said you don't care what your cpu does much outside of games so go with the amd. The amd will perform better in games.

True, but i have also heard that the PD 805 performs better then the FX-57 when OC to 3.7GHZ. I don't plan on OC it that far, but maybe to 3.4GHZ.
Since new games are going to utilize both cores, i want to buy a dual core CPU so i dont have to buy a new CPU in a few months. SO i think i am going to get the PD 805.
