I am only using 30-40% of my RAM

I have 2 GB of RAM and half of it doesn't even get used. I was wondering if there was any way to make the computer use more or to allocate more RAM to the programs i use a lot.

A program will only use as much RAM as it needs, so to use more RAM you need to run more programs or more memory intensive programs.

It is far better to have more RAM than you need than to run out. Count yourself lucky.

You can't force it to use more RAM, you can only run more taxing software to make it use up more RAM. I wouldn't worry about it

Is that when the computer is idle? Thats normal for the computer to only use 30-40% RAM when your not doing anything or just a few windows open. But when you run a game or similar app it will use alot more RAM.

Also, why do you want it to use more RAM? Most people would be happy that they dont use all their RAM, otherwise they would need yo upgrade again.

if its only using that much when gaming, then you could probably make the games look alot better by increasing the drawdistence, graphics levels, etc,
that is, if your video card can handle it.
