I am the Dude, and I am dumb as hell

This is my hello to all,

I am probably going to bombard everyone with questions, the funny thing is I work on multimillion dollar helicopters, but I have no clue what to do on a computer. So I figure if you guys will help me with computers I'll be glad to help you with your helicopters.

Seriously, can anyone recommend any books on learning about PCs? I guess I'm looking for something that has the very basics and then can take to the advanced stuff later on.

Thanks a bunch

I work on multimillion dollar helicopters,
That's cool, what kind? I have some friends that work on MH-53 Pave Lows.

What aspect do you want to learn about? Really, just browsing the forums and reading the 101's are a good way to get a broad understanding.

What aspect would you like to learn about? The best way to learn is read a little into one subject, and then play with windows... Get used to it.

Right click is the most powerful button on the PC. Try it everywhere...

I'll explain to you everything you need to know, if you'll convince your boss to give me a helicopter and a free flying course! :P

Dude, just get down to you local major book store and look at the computer section. Depending on what area of computers your looking into they'll probably have it.

i took an info tech class in college and i really think this forum has taught me more than that class did even though i did learn a lot in it.

yeah thats true. most people are scared to play with computers cuz they are afraid to mess something up. but in reality you can really only do this if you intend to.
