Yay! I bought a Rosewill CHALLENGER Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case ,comes with Three Fans-1x Front Blue LED 120mm Fan, 1x Top 140mm Fan, 1x Rear 120mm Fan, option Fans-2x Side 120mm Fan. I have some questions though. Could I use my old PSU for this case? (I don't know the watts of it, and does it matter if it's from my 9 year old xp?) And would it be compatable with these items? Could I also use my old 200GB harddrive?

MSI 870A-G54 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

AMD Athlon II X4 640 Propus 3.0GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

HIS Radeon HD IceQ+ 5750 Video Card - 1GB GDDR5, PCI Express 2.0, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort


500GB Western Digital WD5000AAKS Caviar Blue Hard Drive (ill get this if my harddrive is a bad idea)

MSI DH-18D4P 18X DVDROM Drive - DVD-ROM 18X, CD-ROM 48X

Corsair CMPSU-450VX 450-Watt (if the one I have isn't a good idea ill get something like this)

It will work with that setup.

The 450VX is overpriced, the 430CX is plenty sufficient for your setup. Otherwise look into the Seasonic S12II 620W. Your old power supply will not work, since 9 years ago the +12v rail was not as vital as it is today.
 
Thanks Bomber, and the total cost is unknown as of now... and etz can I use my old DvD disc reader in my new computer? Is that what you mean by optical drive? And Alien how is the case? P.S would this power supply work? COOLER MASTER Elite 460 RS-460-PSAR-J3 460W ATX12V V2.31 Power Supply

No, the elite units are not very good units. Corsair has a 400W for $29.99 after rebate though.

You can use an old optical drive(optical media, eg cd/dvd), yes.

The case is excellent, great for budget/intermediate builds, very roomy, great sleek finish, and top it off, excellent airflow.
