I can't erase DVD RW disk

i've tried changing the format, removing the "read-only" attribute, different disks, multiple guides and apps but to no avail.
Is there anything I could do?

Don't use DVD-RW disks. They're garbage. I never got them to work right anytime I used them.

the ps2 won't read any other format.

I find that hard to believe. DVD-R are the same except for not being able to delete and rewrite data.

PS2 reads DVD-R no problem. Assuming you are using 'burned backup' games that you already own, eh?
