Have you created a partition when you installed windows? You can do that in disk management or in the same screen where you choose where to install windows to.

im sorry i didnt say before, but i am just trying to store things on it, and plug it in to the usb when i need stuff off of it. like a giant usb! anyway i think its some setting in windows? i dunno tho.

is that maybe why? i need to get it in my pc and try to format it with partition program of some kind?
i dunno i am guessing if u could help it would be awesome:o:P

So it is a brand new drive, right? And its just a bare internal hard drive with SATA or IDE, and you have a converter on it?

In order for you to use a new drive, you need to create a new partition, like I said. Plug it in and press start, and then type disk management. Open that and choose the disk you have and create a new partition.
