I cant remove Antivirus from my system: Pls Help

Please help me to Remove AVG from my system, Its not working fine and i want remove and Install another Antivirus. but it wont allow me. What can i do to remove it. i want to install Kaspasky and it is telling me to remove the former antivirus.
Pls help
 
What happens when you try to uninstall it? Usually if you reinstall the application then it will allow you to uninstall it.
 
What was the "former" antivirus? There are generally removal programs for most softwares, including Norton, McAfee and Avast!

AVG is the former antivirus, as indicated in the quote above.
