I cant share a printer over my netgear 614v7 wireless router

Hi,
I have a desptop running windows vista ultimate and a laptop running vista premium home. I am trying to enable printer sharing between both of them so that we can printer from the laptop wirelessly to the printer attached to the desktop. the problem is that both machines do not find each other on the wireless wizard. we have enabled both file sharing and printer sharing in the settings on both machines but still there is noting found. what is strange is that when we were using bt home hib as the router it was dead easy and everything was found. I am not sure if this is something to do with the router. is there anything that anything that someone can suggest to help?

can you ping each other?
start, run, cmd, ping ipofcomputer and say if it is timed out or reply
 
We are going to need more info.

Are you not seeing the workgroup computers or can you not see any items on the on the computers?

Is a firewall blocking your traffic? Have you disabled simple file sharing in folder options under the contrl panel? Have you shared anything on both computers? Are the user accounts and passwords the same on both computers?

The most common problem I have seen with workgroup networking is that nothing has been shared for you to see on the other computer. Even though you have enabed print sharing, you still need to share the printer under the printer properties.

Let us know what you find.
