I don't get it !!

Okay, you tried mep916's suggested Driver Cleaner, right?

This is a tough one... I ran a X1300 a LONG time ago and it had problems with the CCC. It ran on startup and gave me errors on every startup. I just didn't run CCC, problem solved.

If you get it uninstalled, run things to try to cleanup what was left. CCleaner is a good one and you might want to give the CAT uninstaller a shot.

One more thing, when installing CCC, you do NOT install .NET 2.0 along with the driver. Which means, you do NOT use "Express Install", use "Custom Install." And, do not check the .NET 2.0 box. BUT, before you go to install this update your .NET 2.0 framework.

Which model do you own? Have you had this problem since you installed the video card?

Now i have nothing

You may have tried this already, but I'll suggest a few other options.

- If you can, find a system restore setting previous to the 8.9 driver install.

- Try to reinstall the 8.8 package.

Yeah, system restore is probably your best bet here. I don't understand how CCC F's up so bad to the point where it causes BSOD. I have heard that it wipes out .NET 2.0 but I don't think a .NET framework would crash a machine.

first off the cat uinstaller caused the bsod and system restore was successful but the ati stuff is only partially there and i restored it to 3 days ago

the error message details say "that a problem has caused this program to stop working"
I have tried installing under safe mode

i figured it out. what i had to do was "First extract the drivers to c:\ATI or wherever you want and abort the driver installation (or just wait until the error occurs then start a cmd as admin, and cd to the directory where you extracted all the stuff. Then cd to the "BIN64" directory (or bin directory for 32 bit) and start "ATISetup.exe -Uninstall -output screen" so the drivers are uninstalled. After that extract the new drivers, cd there to the "BIN64" directory (or BIN for 32 bit) and start "ATISetup.exe -Install -output screen" so the new drivers are installed with everything else (CCC). Restart windows and that's it. This is just fo x64 operating systems, if you have a x86 computer you have to cd to "BIN" instead of "BIN64" "

I found this but don't understand what he is saying but this looks like it could work
Or could someone tell me how to install through the command prompt
