i dont know what to do

When my computer goes to sleep, and i wake it up, my monitor doesn't switch back on. My keyboard/mouse and tower boot back up, yet i get no response from my monitor. Also, when i shut down my computer, my OS shuts down but my tower (hardware) keeps going. If anyone could shed some light on this situation, it would be much appreciated .

It almost sounds like a problem with Windows and ACPI. ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) is what allows things like soft-power-off (where the OS can shutoff the hardware).

I've rarely seen an issue with Windows and it's ACPI drivers, however. If it is an option, you may want to try reinstalling Windows.

Why would you want to put it to sleep, I would just shut it down, saves power. Have you checked to see if the connections are secure?
