Hey I got a motherboard from ebay(1.7 Ghz) and I was wondering if I could take my hdd from my old computer (697 Mhz) and hook it up to the motherboard that I’m getting I’ve got the ram the case power and everything else.

Up for auction is a good used Chaintech socket 478 motherboard with a Celeron 1.7 ghz cpu . The post bios number is i845G-ITE8712. This is a Micro ATX motherboard. Pulled from a working machine. Guaranteeed NO DOA.
 
Yes, you can swap and change any HDD from any system to any system. Providing that they both have the same HDD interface, and im assumung that this will be IDE. The only problem might be with the operating system. If its 2000 or XP they are issues with being taken from one computer and put in another. But if it is 98 there shouldnt be a problem. There are ways of over coming the 2000 and XP issues i do belive though..
