I got a Geforce 6500 and the picture is worse than my vid card from the 90s! HELP!!!

thanks, so far it's great, I LOVE this new rig, I was stuck with a computer made in the late 90s, it had under 500 Mhz, 8mb video card, and other bad things, the only thing that's better is the hard drive, my old one has a 160 gig in it, while this one only has a 40. I think eventually I'm going to get a 250 GB SATA, but for now, 40 gigs is enough. The specs of my new computer are 2.96 GHz Pentium D 805(accidentally overclocked it, but doesn't seem to be doing anything too evil so all's good:)) and the video card right now is the 6500, but in a week or so it'll be the 7600. Man, I can't wait 2 years, than I'll be able to get a part time job, makeing at least $420-taxes a week(that's if minimum wages don't go up at all.)

BTW who is that in your pic Maddhatter, he looks familiar from some reason...
 
rob zombie lol...i remember back in the day i had a 400 Mhz celeron like 24 mbs of ram...i thought i had died and gone to heaven when i got my first stick of 128 mb ram it seemed to be blazing fast...and just until about 3 weeks ago i was on a 9600 pro agp card the upgrade to this x1800xt and pci express was another near death experience for me lol
 
yeah, that's who I thought it was, but I didn't want to sound stuipid if it wan't him. Wow, and I thought my computer was bad... lol
 
I know, and I'm going to get the same ram as you too, haha, what case do you have, that's be wierd if it was the Bio II. Than the only things that would be differant would be the hard drives, the cooling system and the PSU
 
I got the 7600GS, it's sharp, I love it, thanks everyone, now the only problems I have with my computer is that my mom's house is hell on computers, and it blew my power supply, and also that I only have 256 MB of RAM, I was going to get more, but my dad's ebay account got shut down for some reason, so for now I'm stuck with only 256. I'm going to have Newegg replace the power supply, so in a week my only problem will be my RAM.
