i got my harddrive stuck.....

yea k what happened was i was installing windows and when i was at the screen to delete the partitions i deleted the one with windows on it and for a long time it was stuck and it said " examining disk...blah blah..." so i turned the computer off and when i went back the disk is inaccessible. the drive still works if i put it in my other com it shows up but does not display...any ideas?:confused:
 
Wait, were you upgrading Windows or doing a full overhaul. If you were doing an upgrade, deleting the partition with your past Windows version would crash the download because to download the upgrade, there needs to be a lower version on the HDD. If you were doing a full overhaul, you just deleted what you downloaded... why?

This is what I would do, and it requires you to have another working Windows PC:

Download GParted LiveCD.

Download ISORecorder - Make sure you download the version appropriate for the machine you'll be installing it on to burn the ISO (XP version for XP, Vista version for Vista.. etc)

Install ISORecorder on your PC (not the one you'll be reinstalling Windows on).

After downloading GParted LiveCD, right click it -> Burn Image To Disc.

After you've burned it to a disc using ISORecorder (this is important, because it needs to be an image - not just data on a disc!), put the disc in the PC you previously 'got the hard drive stuck' on.

Boot up the PC, making sure you boot from CD/DVD (usually F12 -> CD/DVD).

Once the program loads, go through the menu and select the appropriate options (English, VESA driver, etc).

After the program loads, select your hard drive, format it to NTFS -> click the Apply button.

After it's done, exit the program, remove the disc, put in your Windows disc and reboot the computer.

Boot from CD/DVD again, this time to the Windows disc.

Try your installation again.

Again, this is just what I've done in similar situations. There may be an easier way.
