i hate my computer

i have a computer in my room, and it is OLD (8 years now)...well recently i think i obtained a virus...i dont have internet set up on it, but i do transfer songs over i download from this computer and guitar tab stuff.
well recently my computer will restart for no reason...the screen turns blue and it has this big page of problems...a second later it restarts on me...i dont have enough time to read the page and i want to reboot it...i dont have OS CD's though, so does anyone know where or a computer trick of which will clear my comp...hopefully removing the virus

P.s. it will run for like 3 minutes...until it turns blue again and restarts

Don't start the finger pointing at Windows. Who knows what possible viruses the machine has encountered.
 
First off, if you can get onto another computer, you will need to download some antivirus, antispyware, etc. Download avg http://free.grisoft.com/, avg anti-spyware http://free.grisoft.com/, and spybot http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html. Don't install these, just put them onto a USB storage device or a cd.

Now, lets see if it will boot in safe mode. When you first turn on your computer press F10 or F8, keep pressing it until a menu pops up. The menu should say "safe mode", "safe mode with networking", etc. Select Safe Mode. Once it boots up, install avg, avg anti-spyware and spybot. Run a scan with AVG antivirus, remove anything it detects, then avg anti spyware, then spybot. If by chance you have another anti-virus installed, remove avg once you are done. Next, restart your computer and hopefully it will start normally.
If so, you are not in the clear just yet. Download and run Hijack This!, http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php#hijackthis . Run a scan and save a logfile. post the log file here.
