I hate the BSoD

I have run into a problem i cant solve. It started when the BSoD would show its ugly face every time i logged in. I tried repairing windows to no avail then i broke down and re formatted. the BSoD came back after windows was copied to the hdd but was still setting up. i have re formatted 4 times to the same result. i figure its a hardware problem but the only hardware i was able to test was the RAM since i dont have a lot of extra parts laying around to switch out. any suggestions?

overvolt your processor a little bit. is it overclocked at all?

its a P4 3.0GHz loaded into a crappy dell. i didnt feel safe OCing.

Yeah, it's hardware. Could be anything. Motherboard, CPU, harddrive, ram etc.

from what ive heard about the geek squad i wouldnt reccomend you go to them but go to a smaller pc repair company instead.

i was thinking that since the computer will run for a while before the BSoD doesnt that at least narrow down the possible problem items? if the memory was bad it wouldnt work from the start right? i dont really know but i imagine someone does
