Hello this is my problem
I have received a new comp tower from my brother not too long ago. My old tower is still good but I wanted to take my hard drive from my older one and add it to the new one for extra storage. But the computer has too much in difference in OS. (I will post the tower specs in a sec) Or it could it be simply a cord not plugged in or a card that is missing. Its always giving me Access is denied or its naming it as Q): and it has 0 bytes? Its a 500gb SATA hard drive and yes there was a multi color cord I pluged into it with the name SATA on it.

Old Tower: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...kId=101&prodSeriesId=3339270&prodTypeId=12454
(the hard drive was replaced with a 500gb and ran Vista: HP, 32-bit, 1gb ram)

New Tower:http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7203491&CatId=2627 (also 32 bit, windows 7 [professional] i think, 4gb ram [runs well at 3gm idk why])

You have to take ownership of those files/folders before Windows will allow you to view them. Google how to take ownership of files/folders in windows 7.

Tired that still access denied. Question: Do I have to plug in a red cord into my motherboard? From the hard drive to my motherboard

If you do not know what you are doing you can call around to local computer stores and pay to have the data you want transferred. I wouldn't pay more than $50.
