Ok i have everything in except the hard drive in my setup, because i want to configure bios right now to make shure its reading the cd-drives and stuff.... and i hooked up everything... i connected my moniter to the video card and everything and when i press the power button it starts up all the fans and cd-drives, floppy drive start up, but my miniter just flickers once and remains on "please check signal"... im stuck... herses a link to the mother board im using http://fryssupport.net/p4vxasd2.cfm AND heres the manual for it if u need it http://www.dashsignature.com/download/ECS%20Web%20Site_file/p4vxasd2p50aeng.pdf#search='p4vxasd2%20manual'
and can someone tell me the right jumper settingings i should use...

Ok first of all it will help to put the Hard drive in, if that starts up properly then move on to the next possibility. Check that your ram is in properly. Usualy the MB will beep if the RAM isnt in right but check it anyway. check that you have everything plugged in right. Stupid question but did you by the MB brand New? Once you've check all you plugs including video and sound cards try powering up. If you get the same problem and you brought the MB brand new you might consider taking it, Occasionaly brand new motherboards get damaged during shipping.

best soluition is to bring it in somewhere, it's possible to try a different processor and ram in it and see if they work, but you gotta get your hands on them somehow

What type of RAM do you have, cause if you have DDR you may need to do the very first boot up with only single channel ram... My ASUS board was that way, took me a while to figure out

i have sdram... i fould in a lot of computer parts that says 64 mb and 32 mb lol it fits so thats what i put im... and what do u mean "very first boot up with only single channel ram" im gonna upgrade the memory of course to like 512 mb but this is temporary to see if my setup works..

btw i put a hardrive in and still have the same error

Well, since you don't have it you don't need to worry about it.. What I was talking about was if you have "Dual rate Dual Channel RAM" (DDR) it requires that you have two RAM sticks in order to use the dual channel but for the VERYFIRST boot up you could only have one in so it could initialize and upload the drivers for the dual channel to work.. But this doesn't help you hence why I asked about the type you had. Maybe Bad or improperly seated video card? And like "childsy_1985" said try all your connections, power and all
