XP is now discontinued by Microsoft. They haven't been shipping it since the beginning of the year. There is some inventory laying around here and there. I can get a copy for you if you like.

go for vista... it is more secure and less vunarable to virusess and other threats.. add a descent anti viruse like avira and avg both together and you will land on safest os u have...

windows 7 would be nice, but since all copies of windows 7 are deactivating august 1st, i wouldnt really load it as a main OS, just as a dual boot.

Get windows Vista 64bit.

I'm going to agree with Lovely? 7 is great but it's only beta and usable until august.
I would get vista 64bit like home premium or ultimate.

Say what???????? I'm sure he would like to use that newly built computer before it is outdated. :)

await Windows 7 x64 bit. ;)

OP, whatever you are deciding on...it should read something like Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit, or XP...make sure you buy from a reputable site. Newegg had Vista Home Premium 64bit OEM for $79 a couple of weeks ago. I would go with Vista at this point over XP.
