Asus Z68 Maximus IV Gene-Z

16GB 1866 Ripjaws (much better than 1600's, but your old Mobo was a bit iffy
for anything higher and thats what you requested)

120GB SSD Kingston

2x1TB Samsung HD

2 x 2G 6970 Powercolor Graphics (Matt prefers Powercolor to HSI, but can
have HSI for extra $20). This duel Graphics card set up is much much better
for gaming and cooling.

Samsung DVD-RW

775 Tough Power XT

Case options: Thermaltake Armor +
OR Thermaltake Level 10 GT (extra $125 but twice as good for cooling if your
overclocking)

Windows 7 64bit

Aftermarket cooling (CPU and case fans for overclocking)

775 is plenty even for overclocking. But I dunno who told you two video cards is better for cooling. It's much worse.

thermaltake is not a good psu brand though, so you won't actually be gatting 775w, and while running 2 6970's that isn't very good. also the gtx570 for a little more is more powerfull than the 6970. 16gb's is beyond overkill for anything. agreed with the kingston not being good. and for the cases, look at lian li and the coolermaster haf series, those should both be better, also the corsair's are really nice and apparently have some of the best cable management.

The brand of the PSU does not tell you how much power you'll be getting out of it. Yes, cheaper quality PSU's have a much harder time putting out enough power, but they can. They just burn out quicker.

And that's not a bad PSU. Look at the reviews, and not just on newegg (Even though it has 5 eggs on their)

And I don't know why no one likes kingston. I've used a lot of RAM from them and drives (no SSD) and I've never had issues.

I think everyone's missing the title, "I have just placed this as an order, your thoughts ?", i have a feeling our input is a bit pointless at this stage.

i think OP was asking for opinion rather than suggestions.

(@OP i could be wrong so do let me know if i am lol)

i cought that before i ever posted, but still. and i don't get why people order stuff then come and ask us how it is, why not before they order then they don't get dissapointed by a mistake.

Should be a good system, though I honestly would change out the Thermaltake PSU as soon as possible. Not a fan of their cases either.
