I have never built a computer before and I could use some help.

Allright I'll try his RAM then. So is everything compatible with everything and will it all be able to run Crysis on at least high settings??

Ok so it will run it very high, cool. Now are all these parts compatible with one another and should I get a different tower?

Ive just had a look at all your components, seems like a really good rig but I personally dont think that u should limit wat u are going to biuld to if it will play crysis on high setting or not. Althought gigabyte is a good Mboard make I recommend ASUS. Mainly for overclocking reasons but if u dont do any of that then the gigabyte shud be fine.

Let us/me know how u get on with ur rig!!:D:D

That Gigabyte mobo in the OP's post is an excellent overclocker mobo. As in, many people buy that specific mobo BECAUSE they want to overclock well.

Asus makes good mobos, but many people have had trouble with some of their models lately. Just an observation.

Slightly off topic but.... is/has ASUS ever been linked to AsRock as a side branch company(AsRock that is?)

"Your motherboard needs DDR2 1066, not DDR2 800 RAM"

Now what exactly does that mean. Also, I know I shouldn't limit it to Crysis but as of late it seems to be the best game visually so I was just basing it off of that. Another helpful thing that could be done is if someone would make a rig for me. I am trying not to go over around $1300.00 if that helps, and obviously it's for gaming.

it means the ram you selected runs at 800mhz and you need ram that runs at 1066mhz

He doesn't need 1066 memory, 800 will work just great. It's one thing to be wrong about system components, it's another to be wrong when you're telling someone what to buy...as it involves their money.

yes but the motherboard says 1066 plus using 800 will bottleneck the cpu

Let me guess, you went to some site like newegg and it said the memory standard is 1066? And that has what to do with your poor assumption that you can't use 800 with it?

As for performance, 1066 memory is a little faster than 800, but for the price you pay most people don't find the small bump up worth it.

I suggest you only give advice when you know what the hell you're talking about. As of right now, in my opinion you would make for an excellent clueless Best Buy employee. I also don't see your age as an excuse bc at the end of the day you are still giving very bad advice to people who come here looking for solid advice...with potential harmful consequences for them.

That computer will not run Crysis on all max settings. That video card is not good enough to do so. I had an 8800GTS G92 in my last computer and it would not run the game on all max settings with DX 10 and 1280 x 768 resolution. It would "do it" but it was a little choppy and to get rid of the lag I had to back down to 1024 x 768. If you want to run the game on all max settings at a reasonable resolution I would suggest a single 8800GTX or equivalent or dual 8800GT's in SLI.

you CAN use ddr2 800 on that board, its just like putting ddr2 1066 in a mobo ment to run at ddr2 800, it will just slow the ram down to that speed
