i know some about both.
i dont care how much wattage a CRT takes cause i have a 550watt psu.

now if i were to get a CRT id go with a 21inch moniter. i heard the quality is going down in the CRTs also.

On the other side of the spectrem there is the LCD.
I'd go with a 19inch or a 20inch. yes, im 16 (almost 17:P ) and as much as i wish i could get a widescreen i dont have enough funds.
If i would go 19inch, i would go either with the new Veiwsonic or the LG LCD screen. for 20inch, im not sure whats good, most likely veiwsonic.

My max cost would be 500 + 50 or take 50$$$.

Help me out?

The first lcd looks quite good and has gotten better reviews then the other 2 i currently got a 19' lcd and it's pretty good.

the bottom line, i think that lcd's are nicer to look at especially for long hours and they are smaller, more desk space

yeah my old 19in crt can display big ass refresh rates. my 19in lcd can do 60hz. ocasionally i run back to the crt to play some fast action games.

well desk space is no problem, the desk is like 6feet wide and 3.5feet wide.

i will do almost all gaming, world editing and basic homework and enet use.
mostly gaming.

thats why im wondering if a 21inch crt would be fine.

can someone give me a link of a NICE LCD moniter under 500$??????????????
something perdect for my needs, something that wont ghost, lag, chop, slice, rip or tear my picture in fast action games

i went a little crazy there ;)

Well i have two dell 17" monitors, same to teh eye, but one is the 172 and one is the 173, two different monitors. The 172 has a response time of 25 ms and ive never had any problems with ghosting or anything of the like. I say if u have a nice budget like that teh dell ultrasharps are real nice and since christmas is rite around the corner u will see some nice prices on em..my freind has the 24" widescreen ultrasharp and it is by far the best monitor i have seen in person.

Well, I seem to be the only one who prefers a CRT monitor. I prefer the larger size, and the image seems to be better at resolutions other than the LCD's native resolution. Also consider the dead pixel policy on an LCD. One of the LCD monitor's I've had had one, and it was really annoying.

I wish I had 500 hehe my desk is a bit clustered, especially now that my cat has found it to be of liking for his nap times... anyways, you should check ebay maybe? They have good prices.
