I just booted up my machine with a new mobo

I had to change the mobo cause the previous one had faulty capacitors. My OS isnt loading up. I dont know what to do. I can get into setup, and everything looks fine there. Plz help
 
Well, you should be able to replace the motherboard, following the rule that it MUST be the same chipset, otherwise you will run into problems, (perhaps this being one of them).

Check that they have the same chipset, and if they don't, then you may have to reinstall your OS :(
 
Windows XP has a privacy feature where if it detects that the mobo has changed (i.e. The HDD has been put into a different PC) then it wont boot, it's all because XP thinks that the HDD has been stolen and stops it from booting up.

Strange. Cuz I swap my motherboards around at least once a week and I dont run into any problems. :rolleyes:
