I was trying to play Dota 2 with my new Dell Inspiron n5050 laptop (I think it's an n5050), it's an Intel i3 2350 cpu, 6 gigs of Ram, and it has the Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics thingy. I was wondering how the best way to update my drivers would be and how to find the exact drivers I need. I would like help especially with the integrated graphics, anything to help increase frame rate for dota 2. I think the motherboard is HM67 chipset? Windows 7 64 bit home edition
The bios wont let me change any of the settings for the graphics. I did alot of little changes already like set my virtual memory so it has a fixed size, set it to high performance, changed the background to a solid color, made it so my start bar, icons, and the frames of windows aren't that glossy stuff, it's back to the old school gray. I got rid of mcafee and put on avast, I also installed Glarys Utilities and made it so it blocked all the processes I didn't need to have running on start up. I did a system defrag and disk clean up, I went into the registry and made it so the "Themes" thing doesn't start up with windows, basically all the little things you can do to "tweak", if you will, your laptop to get more fps in games. It's sandy bridge? idk what that means, but apparently it's good?
I'm not totally computer illiterate, I can understand instructions, probably.
I guess my overall question would be - What can I do to increase my fps on Dota 2? (On the game itself I've already turned everything on minimum, turns off AA, and turned off Vsync). I'm on like a 5mbps connection.
Also I've heard that I might need to upgrade my drivers but I'm not exactly sure how to do that. I want to make sure I have the latest drivers for my intel hd 3000 graphics.
