I think 2x 1GB sticks are best, as I read somewhere the Athlon's prefer 2 sticks to 4 sticks.

No, you cant run 1T with 4 sticks, no matter what. It has to be 2 or 1. And i believe if its 2 they have to be the same.

then I think i'll get 2 1Gb sticks of some good RAM.. what is some good ram to OC a bit ( or at least attempt to )

I think i know why my overclocking isnt working out.. my Motherboard is from the time when there wernt dual core 939 CPU's.. i had to flash the bios in order for them to be compartible. could that be the problem? ( i mean that the motherboard already has a tough time running a dual core, so overclocking would be too much for it? )

Well, iv always trusted Corsair. But i do have one PNY Verto "Gamer" memory stick that OCs pretty well. I cant really OC it on here, cuz its rated at DDR500 and i cant really run it past that as my cpu will only go to 260mhz fsb on stock cooling. But the ram will run at 260mhz.
