I am randomly getting a blue screen of death about every few days from my desktop computer. Please see the attached screenshot.

My system specifications are below:

Operating System Name: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
Version: 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
System Type: x64-based PC
Processor: AMD Phenom II X2 B59 Processor (3.4 gigahertz), 2 Cores, 2 Logical Processors

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0
Installed Physical Memory (RAM): Super Talent DDR3 4 gigabytes
Total Virtual Memory: 4.92 GB
Video Card: AMD Radeon R7 200 series
Direct X version 11

Any clue what is causing it?

Usually RAM related, I'd make sure your clocks, timings and frequency match the rating on the sticks.

You can also run something like Memtest86+ for a few passes to make sure.

zip up the following file and attach it to your next reply.

c:\windows\minidump\082915-7082-01.dmp

Is the below what you want JohnB35? OkeDokey I have a solid state drive that is a few months old so I really do not think the drive is the issue.

No I need you to physically zip the file itself and attach it to your reply. Click on the upload a file button.

THe cng.sys is a windows system file that become corrupt. Running command prompt in admin, and typing (with space) sfc /scannow can detect and fix this.

The run windows and update it

Then restart, and back in command prompt run chkdsk /r and let it finish.

Restart and run malwarebytes to make sure you haven't any other issues;.

I've used windows debugger to look at your dump file and its inconclusive. Please run the following and post the log.

Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

I will post it again if I get another blue screen of death. Thus far I have avoided using sleep mode and the issue seems to have disappeared. I will post if I have further problems. Thanks to all who helped in this thread.

I recently switched video cards in my two desktop computers. This seems to have resolved the issue. I get no more blue screens of death. I don't think the AMD Radeon R7 200 series video card works well with the Asus M5A97 R2.0 motherboard.

A thanks to all who attempted to help me.
