I keep getting error message when transferring files from my Kindle

Hello guys, I have a Kindle Fire HDX 7 tablet, and I'm trying to transfer videos to my laptop with a USB cord. I keep getting this stupid error message, "A device attached to the system is not functioning" (picture included).

Please...help and tell me what's going on, before either my laptop or my Kindle ends up "Resting in Pieces".

Have you tried using a different computer to see if its the computer or tablet?

Connect the tablet to the PC with the lead, turn on the tablet and wait for the connection sound or for the transfer/download box to come up on the PC screen and click on the programme you wish the file to be transferred to or programme of your choice in 'choose programme', if non of that works open control panel>computer and click on the device and go through its settings, properties etc and if you can find 'use this device as' click on 'camera' or whatever is appropriate and try that way, you are in effect trying to get the device recognised by giving it a name. If none of that works try updating the device driver.
