I must have uninstalled something important

I was getting an error message so i was trying to uninstall things that were not needed. But after uninstalling one of them, my internet went down, and i cant connect to anything wireless. This was in windows, im in ubuntu now, so i know i didnt give enough info, but just ask and i will fill you in.

might have uninstalled the NIC driver..

Try a system restore or look in device manager to see what if any drivers are missing

It says my "ethernet control" driver is not installed. And as a result, my wireless wont work.

Have you tried a system restore at all
If its a self build the drivers should be on your cd that you got with the m/b
If prebuilt youll have to go to your makers website and download them
