Right, well...
My computer decided to kick my burner to the curb.
Heading in to the city tomorrow to pick up a new one.
The store I'll be checking out has these ten burners to choose from.
So which would you suggest to be the best out of:
  1. Liteon IHAP122 (IDE, 22x DVD+-R/RW, CD-RW, Dual Layer, Black)
  2. LG H22NP (IDE, 22x DVD+-R/RW, CD-RW, Dual Layer, Black)
  3. LG H22LP Litescribe (IDE, 22x DVD+-R/RW, CD-RW, Dual Layer, Black)
  4. Samsung S223F/B (SATA, 22x DVD+-R/RW, CD-RW, Dual Layer, Black)
  5. Lite-On IHAS124 (SATA, 22x DVD+-R/RW, CD-RW, Dual Layer, Black)
  6. LG H22NS (SATA, 22x DVD+-R/RW, CD-RW, Dual Layer, Black)
  7. Lite-On IHAS224 Retail (SATA, 24x DVD+-R/RW, CD-RW, Dual Layer, Black)
  8. Asus 24B1ST Black (SATA, 24x DVD+-R/RW, CD-RW, Dual Layer, Blac)k
  9. LG H22LS Litescribe (SATA, 22x DVD+-R/RW, CD-RW, Dual Layer, Black)
  10. Plextor PX880SA (SATA, Up to 24x DVD+-R/RW, CD-RW, Dual Layer, Black )

Do you think a Lite-on would be compatible with my Compaq Presario from the stoneage? I figured SATA were more for newer models.

If you have a computer from the stoneage then its definately IDE interface. What specific model number do you have?

I would get the lite-on, unless the lg is cheaper. Don't bother with the lightscribe model as you'll never use it anyway and it sucks.

Try the LG H22LS Litescribe (SATA, 22x DVD+-R/RW, CD-RW, Dual Layer, Black), LG is known for their quality products.
