I need a second opinion on these two laptops

I've been having a dilemma. I've been looking around for laptops that will last a few years and have great performance along my search I have found these two laptops.

The Acer Aspire V3-772G-5413
CPU: Intel Core i5-4210M 2.6 GHz Processor (3MB Cache)
RAM: 8GB DDR3L
Hard Drive: 1TB 5400 rpm
GPU: Nvidia GTX850m 2GB GDDR5
OS: Windows 8.1

Or
The ASUS N550JK-DS71T
CPU: Intel Core i7-4700HQ 2.4Ghz (Turbo 3.4 GHz) <-- Stock Over clock?
RAM 8GB DDR3
Hard Drive: 1TB 5400 rpm
GPU: Nvidia GTX850M 2GB DDR3
OS: Windows 8.1
Misc things: Comes with a Sonic Master mini-Subwoofer and has a touch screen

The reason these two are on my mind is that I wonder that even though the i7 clocks lower than the i5 is it still better? Also even though GDDR5 is nice is it worth choosing the i5 over the i7? I need one of these laptops for college (but also for gaming on the side) and I've been searching for a while on amazon to find a great piece of hardware at a around $1000 price. Also if anyone knows any better computers please drop a link with any knowledge you can lend me. Lastly, I saw a good Lenovo but I heard their costumer service is just terrible this worries me because I can already forsee myself having to ship a laptop for repairs.

Links to Amazon for each of these models:

ASUS is better than Acer, so get the ASUS. Besides, the ASUS has better specs.
