I have a pci-e1x slot and i wanna put a good vcard in it, does any1 have any suggestions through experience or even just rumor? A link would be fabulous :) For the extent in graphics i play alot of World of Warcraft and would just want that to run niceley with maxed out graphics, if that is possible.

pci-e 1x cards are very overpriced and in the end are not very good instead of putting that much money into a pci-e 1x card i would consider my options of upgrading the board to pci-e x16 in the end you'll be able to get a nice board and a better card for less than the price of a decent pci-e 1x card....with that in mind if you still want to go for a pci-e 1x card i think your best option is an x1300 its the cheapest i can't see paying $400 for one of those cards so this ones a bit cheaper....

not sure the type of mobo, all i know is that the black slot off to the side is a pci-ex1, there are three other slots and you are saying one of those is probablu a pci-16x? Its a very new computer, AMD 64 althon 3800, HP media center computer

Is there a way i can check? some1 told me the black slot would be the only pci-e slot that i would have, and i read udnerneath it that it was a pci-ex1

The two small yellow ones are pci-express X1.

The two long orange ones are pci-express X16.

The two lighter yellow ones are PCI.

It's probably difference colors on your motherboard, but just look for the them.

i have jus tfoudn out that the slot is indeed a pci-ex16, i have no clue why on the mobo it neglects the '6' when i looked at the spansion slots on the specs it says pci3 and pci-ex16

I guess with that said, does any1 have any good suggestions on a pci-ex16 card i should get, (mainly for gaming) price range around 200$ish

OK thanks, 1 last question tho, how is installing it work? I have never installed anything manually in my computer except for ram and vid cards. it looks like it has a bunch of connectors. and then a basic outlet coord, im guessing i would have to fits with all those connectors in the right spots?

Also, would i have to uninstall the psu that came with my computer? This one looks like its external.

took a look at soem cards on newegg and this one caught my eye http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130033 wondering if some1 could do me a quick favor and look up the specs on my computer and tell me if it would run nicely, my model is a1330n pavilion Of course including
