Hello everyone,
im planning to buy a new graphic card to be able to play new games, but :
1) im not sure if my motherboard is compatible with the card. I have enough place in the case, but i dont really dont understand the 6pin/8pin thing.

2) i dont know if my CPU will bottleneck the new GPU since its not the a very new one. what do you think?

3) What about my GPU choice, it seems its the best price/quality right now, except for the R9 but i have like a 500w power supply so maybe not for me.

current CPU : amd fx 6200 six core 3.80ghz
Current GPU : gforce gt 630
incoming GPU : probably MSI GTX 960
8 GO or ram
motherboard : MSI MS-7693
case : Elite 430 Black

Thank you very much in advance

The 960 is fine, only need 450 watt power supply for it with 1 6pin connector. What kind of games you wanting to play.

Thank you for the reply. Mainly µBattlefield 4 but in 100+ fps and SF5 (which requires at least a 960) but nothing wrong with the bottleneck and compatibility? Thats my main concern

I don't think you'll get 100fps on bf4 with the 960. You might want to think about the gtx 970 and upgrade cpu to fx8320.

Allright, and about the pins, what do i have to know? I dont know it i need to buy a adapter for thecompatibility or something?

There's a very likely chance the monitor/TV you use for your computer has a refresh rate of 60Hz, meaning any FPS over 60 is pointless.

Make sure you get the 4GB version rather than the 2GB for the 960. Games are quickly needing over 2GB of VRAM and the card will be viable longer if it has more VRAM.

What specific power supply do you have?

Yeah, so i guess fps around 60-100 will be amazing, cause right now SF5 is unplayable and Battlefield 4 is around 35-55 fps with fps drops, but it's not only for battlefield but for the new game that i cant run for now. I was planning to buy the 4GB version. For my power supply, the guy who make my pc told my it was at least 500w but he's not sure since he made it years ago and im afraid to check that manually since i know nothing about hardware. Thank you very much for your reply :)

Just make sure it's off and unplugged and take off the side panel of the case. Look at the box that has all the wires coming out of it and see what it says. Take a picture if needed. Put panel back on and plug it back in.

Not true at all. Input latency is much better even if you draw frames above the refresh rate.
