I need help my disc drives have stopped recognizing discs

i recently installed Norton System Works. After the install, my drives stopped autoplaying and i've had to find ridiculous methods of getting cd's to play etc. Today is the last straw. i was trying to play a game, and i put it in one drive and then the other with the same results: neither drive recognized that it had a disc in it, and i am unable to get the game to load. This is really driving me nuts and i have absolutely no idea how to get it to work. Any help that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

well the first thing that you did wrong was to install Norton, use Avast or AVG instead (there free too!). Maybe try to uninstall Norton and see if that does anything.
 
I run Systemworks. I never had had a problem with it ( other than being a resource hog ). AVG is ok, But does not do real time scanning from what I have read. You may have somehow botched the install, But I have had a few to many cold ones. But, there is a way to turn auto-play back on!
