I need help on customizing alienware computer

I am in the process of looking into buying a gaming computer through Alienware. I want a desktop or a notebook. I thought a notebook would be good because i could use my Dell desktop as my browsing computer and i could take the laptop around with me. I also thought a desktop would be awesome too because i have a nice 22 inch monitor but i just dont want to see my Dell sitting around because it works good but does not have to game capabilities to play the newer games. I want to stay around the $1500 dollar range. Is there a better gaming computer i can buy but have something along the lines of dual graphics cards? I am not really worried about space on a computer because i never even use 70gb on a computer. If anyone has any other Computer companies that have awesome gaming computers but can stay in my budget can you list them? I want to have graphics cards that can be used in the future when games with high system requirements come out i can still play them with no problem.

Here was the desktop i was looking at at Alienware and how i customized it:
http://www.alienware.com/customize/aurora-desktop.aspx?SysCode=PC-AURORA-R5&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT

I chose dual ati graphics cards and the gaming keyboard and gaming mouse.

here is the notebook i was looking at:

http://www.alienware.com/customize/M17-notebook.aspx?SysCode=PC-LT-M17&Subcode=SKU-DEFAULT

The only thing i didnt like with the notebook is the ati graphics card is great but i want something more.

Like i said if anyone knows anywhere else i can get a desktop or notebook similar or better than these but staying under my budget can u leave a link to the website or something

Thank you, Dustin

i am really looking into the ibuypower computers. There is so much to customize and i got more then what i was getting on te Alienware computers for $1,349 and the computer i customized at alienware came out to $1700

Wow thanks just a noob. that website has a lot of nice computers. I was kind of realizing that alieware was a little rediculous when i realized i was getting more at different companies

well to tell you the truth i am better with fixing computers not building them. I had problems in the past with just changing a power supply but i have considered it

http://www.sagernotebook.com/default.php i would check there for a decent notebook, and alienware is a rip, the $999 model desktop is probably 500 dollars in parts, at most

I have a Sager notebook and love it:D They are a little expensive...but you will get what you pay for. They have a lifetime upgrade service, mine does anyway, what ever you want just send the computer back and they will install it at cost of the part.

I have had it for 2 years now and it runs like brand new...never had one issue with it. When I bought it, a week later I got a hand written letter in the mail asking me if everything was alright and if I was satisfied...now that's customer service;) I would recommend a Sager to anybody, amazing computers from a great company!

Sager M57U
Custom all aluminum case with front LED display
17" Glossy High res screen
Intel T7200 Dual Core @ 2.0GH (then it was the fastest you could get)
Nvidia 7950GTX PCI-E
Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit (I waited till the first you could select it as an option)

Sager NP5797
Intel Quad Core, 9800GTX, 4GB DDR3, 17" high res super gloss (1680 x 1050), A/B/G/N wireless, SATA ports for external hard drives
$2,400...now that's a notebook!

i customized one on ibuypower.com and compared it to one i am customizing on cyberpower.com and the difference is $1 so far but the one on cyber power has dual ATI Radeon HD 4850 PCI-E 16X 512MB Video Cards and the one on ibuypower only has dual Nvidia Geforce 9800GT 512mb graphics cards. But i have a lot more options and a nicer case on the cyberpower one. Its challenging i cant decide which one but i am really liking the one from cyber power

I buy power's are not that great, my cousin has one and even though the specs are great the quality is just not their.

Honestly i would build your own.. If you look on alienwares site, for $100 you get 2gb of ram extra? Now does that sound right to you? when its what 35-50 on newegg? Same with the cpus. Save alot of money and just build it yourself . 700- 900 will get you a rig worth gaming.

get a different psu, if its not a reputable company(corsair, pc power and cooling, silverstone, antec) you might as well be kissing your hardware goodbye

you would need(i might miss something):
cpu
gpu
ram
motherboard
case
power supply unit
hard drive(s)
operating system
cd/dvd drive
