I need help upgrading my Dimension 8400?

Hi all, I'm new.

Here's the deal with me-I want to upgrade the processor and mobo, but don't know if the motherboard will fit into the case. I bought a Dell Dimension 8400 about 3 or 4 years ago. And last July I upgraded the existing DDR2 dual channel one gig to three gigs, and also upgraded my GPU to an x1900xt, at the same time buying a new psu, which is a 470w.

It was made specifically for Dell computers by pcpowerandcooling, here's a link: http://www.pcpower.com/products/viewproduct.php?show=S47D .

Is it possible to upgrade the mobo without buying a new case? I don't want to spend too much money. I have no idea if a new mobo will fit, and that's the problem.

Also, does the PSU have to be specifically matched to the mobo in any way? Like would I have to buy a new PSU for the new mobo. I really don't want to buy a new PSU, because I put a lot of money into that one I bought from pcpowerandcooling. I was told that 8400's don't use proprietary parts, and if that's true, I think I'm in the clear.

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just desperate for help. Thanks much.

The mobo in there at the minute looks like a standard ATX size mobo. Looks like upgrading it will not be a problem.

If its an ATX2.0 or above it will not be a problem.

470W @ 40C (520W peak)
Reduces noise by up to 90%
.99 power factor correction
+12V @ 26A
24-pin M/B connector
1 PCI Express video connector
Automatic fan speed control

Just looks like a bob standard PSU to me m8y.
