I need help with a program!

Ok, so I have this program called "AntiMalware Doctor" and it's really bugging me. It constantly pops up a window that says "Your computer is infected with viruses!" blah blah then it only gives me an option to buy the product, which is $89.00. I already have McAfee, and in my opinion that is pretty good, so why would I need this other program? So I go to control panel then to Remove/add programs, because AntiMalware Doctor only gives me the option to purchase. So when I try to remove the program, I click remove, and it just brings up the window telling me to buy it, and the only way I can see out of this is to buy the product, which I'm not going to do. I have a Windows XP. Any input would be GREATLY appreciated, as this is very frustrating.

I would delete the directory in program files.
Use and think CCleaner has an option in the install to delete the entry. so does regseeker. http://www.hoverdesk.net/
its under the freeware section.
goto start, run '%appdata%' and delete all occurrences of the program.
reboot the system
let us know.

First of all, I've moved this thread to the security subform as its a virus/malware issue.

    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Please keep updating until it says you have the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • A log will be saved automatically which you can access by clicking on the Logs tab within Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Download the HijackThis installer from here.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.

Click Do a system scan and save a logfile

Most of what HijackThis lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

Post the logfile that HijackThis produces along with the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware log

Hi, sorry it took so long to reply, I've been pretty busy. I did what you said, tremmor, and the problem is persisting. I still get pop ups and now I am getting a window that says "Memory low! You must close all programs now!" frequently. John, I downloaded Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and it may be working, I'm not sure. The program "Antimalware Doctor" is continuing, I did what you said, tremmor, and it's still here. Is there any other way I can remove it? Thanks for your help, I think I'll post later with more information, my computer may have gotten better, I'm not sure.

Please post the logs as further cleaning may be necessary. I need to see the logs so I know whats on your system.

Malwarebytes database is outdated and needs to be updated. Open malwarebytes and click on the update tab and then click on check for updates. Keep doing this until it says you have the latest version. Then rescan your system and post new logs. Make sure you post a hijackthis log.
