I want to hook two desktop computers to one ethernet cable so I can have my cable internet on both computers. What is the best and cheapest way to do these. I am confused between routers and switches. The computers do not need to be conected in a network, all I want is to split the ethernet into to. Can this be done with a switch? Thank you for your help!

well you need a router not a switch. Are the two computers close enough in proximity to run wires to both of them or do you want to go the wireless route?
