I need HELP!

I just build a gaming rig with an A88oGM-M6 motherboard, AMD Anthlon ll 3.1ghz quad core cpu, and 4gb ram ddr3. I am running windows xp 32-bit OS. It is already running way better than my old single core but I play a game called Nitto Legends 1320 and its not running as smoothly as my friends computer with simular stats with an intel base. He has the capabilty to swap between dual core and quad core and I want to be able to do that. Also any other softwares or anything that could boost my performance? the only thing i didnt replace is the hardrive. I have a used 80gb IDE Hardrive. Could this be my problem? I intend to Upgrade that asap anyway but atm money is tight. Please help, there are no stupid sugjestions, anything might help.
 
That is crappy onboard video card.
What you need to do is buy a video card.
What is your motherboard brand and model number? I can't find anything on google.
What is your budget and what psu have you got?
 
My budget is spent. All I am getting now is a 1tb hardrive. I might upgrade the vid card l8r and add more ram. My board hold up to 32gb ram. I have a ECS A880GM-M6 Black Series Motherboard. It is already running better just since i put windows 7 Ultimate on it and am using all 8gb of my ram. and I am betting that after i get my new HD it will run even better. I dont play high end games or anything, I play a pretty low tech Beta download Racing Game.
