I'm trying to play a episode of a tv series on windows media player but when I open the folder my computer justs blanks out the media player symbol on the programme then the programme stops pauses startsblanks plays pauses & the sound likewise Iwould love if someone could point me in the right direction thanks Brian:

Use DivX to play the file. Hope this helps.

What type of media file is it? (.avi, .mpg, etc.) It sounds like you might just need the proper codec to play the file.

get rid of windows media player, it is rubbish

go get the newest version of VLC. The UI may not look pretty but it plays just about every freaking format of video out there.
