can somebody just make a budget gaming build on newegg so he doesnt waste his money paying someone or buying overkill parts.??

Is the Intel DG965WHMKR Motherboard any good? And what would the advantage of 2 vid. cards be?

I hated the DG965WH, it was total junk... The BIOS were good and you cannot OC on an Intel board, only the 975... That thing couldn't stay on overnight without random shutdown and BSOD... Scary thought, that thing is in a server now....

I do not intend on being mean here, but you need to do some research on your own before building a system.

Here is a good book that will teach you the basics on building a computer, It has descriptions of what the parts are and what they are for. I really suggest reading it even though it is a bit out dated on the actual parts they talk about, it will still teach you what you need to do to build a system.

Building a PC for Dummies
http://www.amazon.com/Building-PC-Dummies-Mark-Chambers/dp/0764507826

Do yourself a favor and either buy a copy, or go to your local library and check it out. It will save you a lot of time, effort and probably money.

Those Dummy books are worth reading!

ok, there are a couple motherboard that are good right now. However, you have to choose whether you will be running two graphic cards or just one graphic card.

If you are running two graphic cards, any motherboard with nForce 680i SLI chipset will be good for you. For example,

OR
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131073

However, if you going to use only one graphic card, any motherboard with P35 chipset will do great for you. For example,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128048
OR
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128059
(I'm not too sure about the difference between the DS3R and DS3L :p)

also, for the processor, core 2 duo will be great for your build. Something like e6750 probably.

Hope this helps. :)
Good Luck with your build.

GA-P35C-DS3R have RAID and support both DDR2 and DDR3.

Why do you keep insisting on that Intel board? Is that the only option you have? I don't mean to sound angry or rude at all. But personally, I would go for the GIGABYTE motherboard if I am using only one graphic card or any 680i SLI motherboard if I am going SLI.

However, if you are comfortable with your choice then I guess you are fine. I just feel that that is not the best board you can get. I don't want to you to go wasting money on parts that are sub-par and will be out-dated in a month or two.

You might have answered this in this thread and I could have missed it. But what is your budget for the whole build? People here will be able to suggest better parts for your computer if you provide us with the budget.

Again, sorry if I sound offending to you. :p

$550, but do not worry about monitor, mouse, keyboard, prionter, or case. That's my max. ANd the mobo in my last post is a different one from the 965wh
