So I'm planning to buy a laptop, and this is the first time ever. I planning to use this for college. So is this a good laptop? I'm not so good with judging computers.

Hey I'm not a genius when it comes to computers, but I'll do my best to try and help you out :).

My first thought is about what you'll be using it to do for the most amount of time (What are you majoring in?). I've never used Windows 7, and have heard mixed opinions on it so I'm not savvy on that. The processor is pretty good. Great screen, camera can come in handy for contacting family if your in a dorm. Hard drive is wonderful. Wonderful graphic card, as well as the DVD drive. Not sure about the battery, I have no clue as to what's a good or bad battery. Perfect Security, I have had McAfee for as long as I've owned any computer and I have yet to get 1 sign of malware/spyware, etc. In my opinion (not saying it's right), you've found yourself a great computer. But I return to my first question...What's your major?

I need some help as i am new to this site, I do have a futji simens laptop one year old its windows vista. All of a sudden when you on the comuter it shows up documents page but not the main window sbutton at the bottom neither its showing clock and other things. I donot have my laptops back up cd and i cant fix it any help or suggestionss???

hi,
i bought my 15.6" acer a few months back for school also.
if i could do it over, i would go with a smaller screen. maybe a 13"

this thing is too big and heavy to be lugging around campus.
also, unless you're half way through your degree, there aren't many courses where a laptop would be necessary, i can only think of a few times where i used mine and even then was not really really necessary.

my laptop was $400 bux, and has everything i would ever need. :)

if you're buying Dell, go with their business class Latitude. they come with less crap preloaded and are very sturdy, my bro has one and is a really good laptop.
