i need some help guys

Hey guys, im havng a little problem with my monitor.
Im not sure if its my GPU or montior.
In movies and such..white areas.like the sky.and that are almost purplish?
the colours seem a bit screwed up.
ive tryed setting it to defaults and fooling around with the settings.but i can't seem to get it right.

Can anyone give a suggestion for what i should do?
 
its almost as if bright spots show up alot brighter.and theres like..
its hard to explain..and it only shows up when i play a movie
Its not in any games, or anything of that such
 
sounds like a codec problem have you tried updating video drivers and codecs? if not i would recommend ace mega codec pack thats what i have used for years and have never had any codec issues
