Hey all!
I've extensively messed around with this desktop--dealt with practically any issue, and this one's stumped me. First, specs:
Intel E4500
ASUS P5B
2GB OCZ Gold DDR2-800
320GB SATA
X800GTO
Ultra 550w
So, the other day I was curious (this is how many problems start...), and so I decided to underclock the FSB, as this computer is on quite a bit, idling. So, I dropped the FSB to 150x11 (from 200x11), and put the CPU voltage down, etc. Basically I put everything pretty low so that it wouldn't take as much power.
I reboot, and it sits, fans spinning, no POST. It does this occasionally when you are trying out overclocking settings, and you just turn off the computer, unplug the power from the PSU, let sit for 30ish seconds, and then plug it back in, turn it on, and it resets everything to stock.
That didn't work. So, I went the next step--according to ASUS, take out the battery, move a jumper over for 5-10 seconds, move it back, put in the battery, start again. Nothing changes.
Next-- tried taking out the RAM. It beeped. Put the RAM back in--it's only one stick, so I tried every slot. Nothing.
Took everything out, except the CPU and Memory. No beeps.
Took the CPU out, booted, then put the CPU back in. Nothing changes.
So, here I stand, and I can do no other, so help me God.
Any help, ideas? Something I'm forgetting?
