I got my replacement hdd today so im instaling vista and everything is fine, i installed a few games and stuff and then i find that my cd drive isn't working. Its done it before but i had the option to do a restore but i don't think i have a restore point since i JUST installed windows.

I took this pic, i believe its supposed to be using the bottom driver but i can NOT get it to use it, because it won't let me change because its already up to date!! ( yes its has the yellow mark beside it in device manager because its not working correctly )

I need some help !!! :D

Maybe thats the problem then, because it is SATA and i guess it is using the right driver. Anyway i can fix this? lol.

Yep, i have tried all i know to try. I hope some one else knows what going on... lol, i cant do anything without a drive! :P

That didn't fix it either

I needed to update the drivers anyway, but why does my HDD and OD say SCSI? is that normal?

Arh, i realy want to get this working. Any other suggestions? Thanks :(

Edit: From reading around seems like it might be somthing in the registry??

Heres the code:
(A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.)
