Hey Guys,

Some of you might remember my computer "Personal Best" computer build thread.

Well i can't do that due to money!

So i put down to do the Multimedia for our upcoming Middle School Production, well that looks like it is not going to happen.

So i'm thinking of making a program.

Has anyone got any suggestions on what sort of program i could make??

I would like to hear all suggestions!

Thanks,

Cohen

What programming languages do you know? Have you got any idea how complex it gets.

i'm learning :P, some something easy....

If you're just learning, don't expect to be able to make a program that anyone would buy. Making games/program that anyone would pay for takes MONTHS of work from a dedicated DEVELOPMENT TEAM (not one person). It takes at least year of learning before you'll be able to make anything that a prospective buyer would even consider, and in many cases there's a better free alternative available.

HOWEVER, If you're serious bout going ahead with this, you have two options:
1) Making a strategy/RPG game for those freaks who still play pre-2000 games. These are people that believe that gameplay makes the game, not graphics. Believe me, developing a decent graphics engine and actually producing the graphics are some of the biggest challenges when developing a game. If you can make up even a somewhat decent story, programming the gameplay mechanics is a piece of cake (not really, but compare it to making Crysis, it is). OR

2) Casual games. These have simple objectives, gameplay and so on, but something in this kinda games just sucks players in like, well, I refuse to quote yahtzee, but anyway Casual Games are some of the biggest sellers out there. If you can come up with a good idea, the effort that goes into making a such game is pathetically low compared to the potential income it can generate.

Again, though, this is going to be REALLY hard for you, simply because you would have to create something of high enough quality to compete with all the FREE software out there, and even if you can do this can you create something that someone would pay for?

By the way, i want this "Cost" free!

Create a game... This software is simple, you can use coding but you can make a nice game without writing a single line of code.

Thanks, i'll have a look
