I'm bussy with essambling my new computer, but becouse i'm not that long into studdying IT i need some knowledge about graphic cards.
i need to know the following things:

What messures the speed more, the chip clock speed or the ammount of RAM.

When i'm playing games what would be more usefull and why?
2GB GraphicRAM with a low clock speed
1GB graphicRAM with a high clock speed

what are the main difrences between AMD and Nvidia.

i'll apollogize akready for my grammar :)

the difference between amd and nvidea other people can tell you better.
the difference between 1 gb and 2gb, oke 1 is enough for the most games out now, but some games are almoust taking the 1gb.
it depends what resolution you monitor is, till 1920x1080 till now 1gb will by enough, how long????????????
if youre resolution is higher ore you will go for a multi monitor setting in the future, 2gb will be better.

and for the speed, de core clock is more importent for speed.

You cant compare cards the way you want to. The architectures varry too much from gen to gen and amd vs nvidia is impossible. The only way is to go to anandtech.com and go to the benches section and compare them. But im not sure if they have the 2013 list up so new drivers have changed performance a lot.

doesnt realy matter. i havnt got the buget at the moment to buy the newest caards. if so i would have bought a GTX 660 TI. i'm a gamer but not a gamer that plays game often. bet becouse i do play games i want a new graphic card. my budget is not more than 11o euros however. that makes me realy picky in selecting the right graphic card:P

oke then you dont have a lot of options, if you want a new 1.

in holland you will have the choiche for a asus gt640 with 2gb memory, cost 91,45 euro
a 650 with 1gb
ore you will have a 7750/70

so thats basic youre options.

what are your full specs? mainly the processor and power supply. You will probably be best off with a 7770/7750, best performance for the price, and low power requirements

Sharkoon Vaya midi tower
LG GH24NS70 dvd burner
Sharkoon WPM600
G.Skill 16 GB DDR3-1600 Kit
Seagate ST1000DM003
ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
AMD FX-6100

the graphic card isnt in this essambley yet. all together it has a price of 450 euros. the graphic card isnt involvedyet as you can see. incase there are sugestions i havnt bought the computer yet so the components still can be changed. just for the info, i used to have a ps3 but i threw it out of the window becouse the over 6 years olf hardware enoyed me as hell :D. it is a 32 inch fullHD screen from wich i cant find the resolution sadley. but its just for the info tough:P

You still need to add a Power Supply, I'd recommend a Crosair CX 500 or CX600 (depending on what card you get and room for future upgrades). Also I'd recommend upping the budget a bit for a slightly better card than a 7750/7770. I'd say a 7850 would do sufficient.
And your monitor is FullHD you say, means the resolution would be 1920x1080.

Also, turbobooster adding a dutch link (tweakers) with a price list of the current prices in the Netherlands/Belgium is useless for someone not from NL/BE.

Also 16GB is nice to have but I'd say 8GB would do sufficient now ad upgrade later. Which frees some of the saved cash from the RAM for a slightly better card than a HD7770 :P

thanx for the help. i did add a power supply however (Sharkoon WPM600). it's 600W. and indeed i could change the 16GBram to 8GB. i chose it becouse ram isnt that expensive. but i could lower it to 8 and save around 30 euro. that would meen that i have 140 euros left. i think i can pull 10 euros from somewhere else:P. i could get a GTX550TI.i'm thinking about this one:

Ah lol didnt see the PSU, my bad.

In my opinion 8GB is enough for now, and you could upgrade in like 2-3 months if you feel the need for 16GB of RAM.

The 650Ti is a nice entry level card, but have a look around a bit more for a maybe a 660 or 7870. All depends on what you want to do and how much you know you can spend ofcourse :)

i know its pointless to ad a dutch site, but it was not for the price but more the cards he would get for the money

dont worry. ik ben wel nederlands net zoals een hoop mensen hier :P
just cant talk dutch becouse of the forum rules. the website did help an i'll look further on it to. but as i said im not a gamer that plays games to often. so i wouldn't mind if i need to buya graphic card somewhat cheaper as long as i can play them. if i look at the benchmarks it seems like i can get pretty far with these cards.

Still, I wouldn't recommend posting a dutch site. Just use NewEgg or Amazon, just something general for alot of people here.

Haha oke dan! but still, a graphics card is a component that I personally wouldn't get a cheaper one. I don't play many games any more but I like my occasional amazing graphics in a game so a mid range card is all you'd need anyway.

BF3 will use a bunch of RAM no matter the resolution. I've seen it above 1GB at 720p, but it will also run smooth as butter with 512mb of vRAM.

As for other games, at 1080p, you are not going to be limited by vRAM anytime soon.

Pick any (3D) game that came out since 2012, it'll use more than 1GB of Vram. Would be ridiculous to not get 2GB of RAM now, unless you're not playing games.

it is not worth arguing over. the fact of the matter is, 1GB is enough. if you want to buy 2GB, fine, but it is not worth wasting money on it.

i have been thinking about a lower class graphic card. but i'm assuming that ill use it for a while. becouse of that i'm thinking about buying a somewhat stronger card so theres no need to change it in the time i'll be using it. i'm not sure but doesnt it meen that theres need for me to buy new graphic cards more often?.
