I need to know the basics

Does anybody know a good write-up for new computer guys? I am just starting to want to learn and dont know where to start. I have done some work to my new rig but still dont know a lot. I have been reading about overclocking and tweek tips and performance tips and stuff like, and I get most of it but I still get lost in the lingo sometimes. Also would like to know how to build/match components in the system. I have heard something about Processor speed and bus speed and mhz in memory, but I would like to know what works best with what. I assume getting faster memory speed would be pointless if the processor couldnt work that fast......I dont know, like I said, kinda lost and need to know the basics.

*EDIT* Im not looking for a gaming computer or anything like that. I just surf the web, look at pictures or videos, and my wife and I like to play facebook games.

For my next computer I plan to get every component fast and powerful, that way I will be sure to get something I like. But that's just me.

That would be nice, but I am more concerned with the components working together correctly. As mentioned before, what specs should I focus on when matching up a processor, RAM, HDD, and even a video/graphics card? I also just replaced my motherboard with a gigabyte ga-k8nf-9 and I dont know where to plug my usb drive into it. Its a usb drive that fits under the FDD and has wires running to the motherboard. I took note of where it came out of the old board but putting it in the new board deemed to risky for me. I dont want to screw something up.
