I need to use a hdd that has vista on it on a win 7 pc

I just traded a laptop for a desktop and I want to take the hard drive I have in my old desktop and put it in my new on but I don't know how to put this hard drive in and run them both on win 7.
Please help

You won't be able to boot to the vista install. You can use the drive as a storage drive but that's it.
