According to SiSoftware Sandra (Lite), my video BIOS is from 5/16/01 and it

is currently version 3.11.01.30.65

I've already tried the offical NVIDIA site and also

http://whitebunny.demon.nl/hardware/chipset_nvidia.html

however, I still cannot get the exact needed video BIOS update. Praetor (or
anyone), where can I get the latest BIOS for my card? Is it worth flashing/

will improve performance stablity?
Current driver version from Nvidia.com: Version:
71.84
Release Date: March 11, 2005
WHQL Certified

(Yes, I have a floppy drive and it is already bootable (i.e. BIOS checks upon
start-up).

video BIOS', like mobo BIOS' come from the manufacturer not chipset designer. I wouldn'y update the video BIOS as it isn't likely to do much (not like you can put a new GPU on the card). Video drivers don't need to be updated unless your current ones are causeing problems, new versions generally only help on the current card generation

Okay then. So, since my card was actually built to use DirectX 7......why does DirectX 9.0c work so nicely despite lack of vertex shader hardware? And if I don't need the newest drivers from Nvidia, would it be a good idea to use older drivers? I mean, newer games work fine. What do you recommend Cromewell? Just keep it the way I have it now?

Well you know what they say: "If it aint broke don't fix it"... of course they also say "If it aint broke you're not trying."

You don't need DX9 hardware to use DX9 features, what ever driver you are using must have soft DX9 support. So as long as things are working I'd say stick with what you've got.
